Position Overview
As a dedicated elementary classroom teacher, you will:

• Specialize in delivering engaging, student-centered instruction.
• Foster a love for learning, build academic excellence, and address the diverse needs of students in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
• Play an active role in co-planning and co-teaching, contributing to the school’s collaborative culture.
• Create a nurturing learning environment grounded in Finnish pedagogy and internationally recognized teaching practices.
• Ensure the safety, well-being, and holistic development of every student while supporting the school’s operational culture and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Classroom Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily classroom instruction that aligned with the SISU Schools curriculum and best instructional practices.
• Implement teaching strategies that address students’ diverse learning styles and needs.
• Collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues to develop and support Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
• Provide plans, documentation, and reports as required by the school.
• Regularly evaluate student progress using research-based formative and summative assessments.
• Actively participate in classroom activities and contribute to the development of the school’s learning community.

General Responsibilities

• Communicate daily activities and student progress effectively to parents.
• Actively seek to improve professional practices and teaching methods.
• Follow established school policies, guidelines, and procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of curriculum content, instructional strategies, and student development.
• Create and maintain a respectful, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
• Participate in co-curricular and/or extracurricular activities as needed.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or equivalent (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the elementary level, preferably in Grades 1-3.
• Strong experience and knowledge of curriculum design, pedagogy, and instructional strategies.
• Proficiency in co-planning and co-teaching methods.

Preferred Education & Experience

• Experience working in a dynamic, multicultural, and international educational environment.

Language Skills

• Fluent in English (required).
• Knowledge of Spanish is considered an advantage.
