About the Role
Dar Essalam American School (DAS) in Rabat, Morocco, is seeking dedicated and experienced Elementary Homeroom/Classroom Teachers to join our dynamic team. DAS teachers play a vital role in fostering high student performance and happiness by delivering engaging, high-quality instruction aligned with international benchmarks. This role focuses on creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment while inspiring student collaboration, creativity, and exploration.

Role and Responsibilities

• Conduct activities and lessons based on Finnish and American methodologies.
• Foster an inclusive, positive learning environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.
• Maintain excellent classroom management and ensure the social and emotional well-being of students.
• Collaborate with colleagues to provide personalized learning opportunities and curriculum development.
• Regularly communicate with parents and the school principal about student progress and performance.
• Maintain accurate student records and provide constructive feedback.

Typical Duties

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons tailored to meet diverse student needs.
• Integrate hands-on activities and technology into instructional practices.
• Develop Personal Learning Plans (PLPs) for students in collaboration with parents and colleagues.
• Participate in extracurricular activities, including clubs and events, to enhance the school community.
• Promote cultural diversity and incorporate cross-cultural perspectives into lessons.
• Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching strategies.
• Ensure student safety and follow health and safety procedures during school activities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Education (preferred) or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of proven teaching experience in elementary education.
• Experience in Finnish-style schools or with Finnish curriculum and instructional strategies.
• Exceptional communication, classroom management, and collaboration skills.
• Training in child protection and safeguarding.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in international or culturally diverse environments.
• Familiarity with technology-based educational solutions.
• Visionary and strategically minded thinker.
• Proficiency in French and/or Arabic is an advantage.
